John ‘Ziggy’ Hall began his musical pursuit at the young age of 13 with an all original band called Deliverance. As lead singer for Deliverance, Ziggy and the band made their first recording at Shooting Star Records and performed in local venues to promote their songs.
Through the years, Ziggy performed in local rock bands. One of these bands was called Stone Kold and gained popularity in the local area. A new band was forming in the North-Central WV area during the early 90’s and Ziggy was invited join. Ziggy became the lead singer for the band Shadrach. In addition to being lead vocalist, Ziggy added his guitar and percussion talents to Shadrach. This band would continue to perform regionally over the next two-years as an opening and headlining act.
In the summer of ’94, Ziggy moved to Charlotte, NC, where he formed a band called Final Cut. Final Cut performed their rock show in venues throughout the region and in major projects for the American Bikers Association. Final Cut performed as the opening band for national acts such as Eddie Money and Crosswind.
In mid-2000 Ziggy had the honor of playing the side stage at the Willy Nelson 4th of July picnic in Luckenbach, TX with the band Johnny Bigguns and the Low Riders.
At this point the band Spare Change had formed playing classic rock, new rock and originals. Spare Change performed in the NC, SC, VA and WV regional area. The well-rounded musical style and repertoire of Spare change made performing interesting and enjoyable for Ziggy.
While in Charlotte, NC, Ziggy completed one more recording project. This project was Ziggy’s release of the self-performed CD called ‘Heavy’. It was early 2010 that Ziggy made the decision to return to his roots in WV, a decision that would present new opportunity.
After a highly successful reunion in October, 2010 with original members of Shadrach, the band re-formed with Ziggy on lead vocals and guitar. Shadrach is performing original and select classic rock material and shows. Shadrach has since written and recorded their first original CD titled ‘Captured’ and are performing in the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast regions to promote the CD.
Ziggy has opened for a number of national bands and recording artists such as Foghat, Brittney Fox , Dixie Allstars , RIF RAF, Rick Derringer, Pat Travers, Blackfoot, Eddie Money, Crosswind and Bo Bice to name a few.
